Slow down. Tune in.

The ritual is the reward.

Skincare, the way our grandmothers practised it.

Modern skincare sells you serums. Ancient India offered something different โ€” a daily rhythm of cleansing, anointing, and rest, woven into the rest of life. This is how we honour it.

When you use it matters

Your skin doesn't need the same thing at 7am as it does at 11pm. Match the product to the mood โ€” and the time of day.

The Awakening splash

Skin is puffy, slow, holding overnight oil. You need a wake-up โ€” not a peel. Reach for something cooling, brightening, and quick.

  • Splash face with cold water
  • Lather Bright Stay Fresh
  • Massage 30 seconds, rinse cool
  • Pat dry โ€” never rub

The Glow reset

By midday the city has settled on your skin โ€” sun, dust, sweat, screens. Reset with something brightening and gently warming, with Ayurvedic roots.

  • Dampen face with rose water
  • Massage Ubtan Saffron or Ubtan Rose
  • Rinse with lukewarm water
  • Air-dry in shade for a minute

The Sunday ceremony

Once or twice a week, give your skin the full ritual. Music low, lights soft, phone away. This is the slow magic that resets everything.

  • Cleanse with Ubtan Rose
  • Apply Gulab Chandan Facepack
  • Rest 15 minutes โ€” meditate, read
  • Rinse cool, finish with rose mist
For the Gulab Chandan Facepack

Four steps. Twenty minutes.
One transformation.

01

Cleanse โ€” clear the slate

Begin with a clean face. Use lukewarm water, never hot โ€” heat strips your skin's natural oils and sets you up for sensitivity later. If you've been out in the city, follow with a mild face wash like our Ubtan Rose to clear sunscreen and pollutants.

"Open pores breathe better. Cleanse, then wait 30 seconds before applying anything."
02

Mix โ€” the alchemy

Take 1 teaspoon of Gulab Chandan powder into a non-metal bowl. Add rose water (or plain water, or yoghurt for dry skin, or honey for dull skin) slowly while stirring. Aim for a smooth, drip-free paste โ€” the consistency of soft yoghurt.

"Never mix in metal. The clay reacts and loses potency. Wood, glass or ceramic only."
03

Apply & rest โ€” let it work

With clean fingertips or a soft brush, layer the paste in upward strokes across your face and neck. Avoid the eye area and lips. Then โ€” and this is the part most people skip โ€” actually rest. Sit. Breathe. Close your eyes. Let it dry naturally for 15 to 20 minutes. This is not a chore. It is the ritual itself.

"If it tingles, it's working. If it burns, rinse immediately and patch test next time."
04

Reveal โ€” the unveiling

When the pack is semi-dry but not cracked, wet your fingers and gently rub in slow circular motions. This doubles as a soft exfoliation. Rinse with cool water until water runs completely clear. Pat dry โ€” never rub. Skin will look quietly glowing, feel softer, and continue improving for hours.

"Finish with a few drops of rose water as a toner. The ritual deserves a proper close."
